This Aboriginal Interpretive Playspace will take you on a cultural journey by retracing the steps of the local Aboriginal people from the escarpment to the sea. This one-of-a-kind space is tucked away in the natural gardens behind the Shellharbour Civic Centre, with a custom rubber design (using our polyurerthane binder) highlighting the nearby Lake Illawarra, as well as local flora & fauna, and rubber softfall in the custom canoe playpiece, known as a 'Jubborsay'. The natural surroundings and the City's rich Dharawal Aboriginal cultural history are reflected in the new modern playspace design. To improve sense of place and connection for individuals of all ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds, it will also embrace the inclusive design concepts in the NSW Government's Everyone Can Play guideline.
