Overview

SabreGrip PG1400 is an industrial strength, sprayable contact adhesive formulated to have an extremely high heat resistance of greater than 128˚C. SabreGrip PG1400 is water-resistant and has a high solid content that results in a high coverage. A medium open time facilitates production schedules yet gives time to position bonding surfaces in hard to access areas.

SabreGrip PG1400 is widely used by auto trimmers, marine upholsterers, and insulation installers and in many other industries to form high strength bonds with a wide range of materials including fabric, leather, felt, canvas, head linings, insulation materials, frontrunner, deck tread, fibreglass, polyurethane foam, metals, decorative laminates, MDF, particleboard, plywood, cork, carpets, some vinyl’s, plastics and rubbers, and many other materials.

How to Use

  • Preparation

Shake or stir thoroughly before use. Ensure all surfaces to be bonded are clean and free of dirt, grease, oils, solvents, and other contaminants. Ideal bonding temperature for adhesive is above 16˚C

  • Adhesive Application

When bonding, Sabre Surface Activator may be used on non-porous surfaces. We recommend preliminary compatibility tests previous to application.

  • Tack Time:

To test the tack, touch adhesive lightly with the back of the finger. If the adhesive feels sticky but does not transfer to the skin, the adhesive has dried to tack. It is important that no solvent is trapped between the surfaces. For porous surfaces and crucial areas, it is recommended to apply a second coat after the first has become tacky.

  • Bonding:

Position components carefully, as a strong bond is made immediately on contact. Place the coated surfaces together and apply firm, uniform pressure to the entire bonding surface ensuring that any air bubbles are expelled (a hand or nip roller is recommended). Full adhesive strength will be reached in 24 hours.

  • Cleaning:

To remove excess adhesive use Sabre CC Citrus Cleaner.
