Overview

LeesonBound (PU4844/60) is a BBA Approved high performance two-component polyurethane system, for use with aggregate blends to achieve SUDS compliant porous aggregate bound systems. LeesonBound (PU4844/60) is a 2 component PU stone encapsulation binder for use with for example Leesonmix stone blend as a pebble effect floor coating or tree pit infill. LeesonBound (PU4844/60) is based on aliphatic polyurethane technology to give enhanced UV performance.
LeesonBound (PU4844/60) can be used with any of the approved stone mixes tested in our laboratory. If alternative aggregates are required, we offer a UV strength testing service at our laboratory. We strongly urge our customers to make use of this service prior to installing with an unapproved aggregate.

FAQs

We understand that the LeesonBound system is the strongest on the market; how is that measured?

We test the cured system – the aggregate blend and the LeesonBound binder, as installed by our customers – so what we talk about, is what you get. We are typically x2-3 the strength of the other systems on the market.

The LeesonBound system is a 100% reactive system; what does that mean?

A good quality resin bound system should have strength and flexibility. We achieve flexibility by using high performance polyols and no diluents. It is possible to make the product flexible more cheaply using diluents, but these will migrate out in time, making the system brittle – something to watch out for.

Leeson Polyurethanes talk about an engineered aggregate blend; what does that mean?

When we started with resin bound systems in the mid-1990s, there generally wasn’t a lot of guidance for installers about which aggregate blend to use. We wanted to make sure our customers always achieved a good installation, so we only recommend our approved aggregate blends. Before we approve an aggregate blend, it is tested for strength, durability, water permeability and hardness, and can only be purchased from our approved aggregate partners.
