Overview
SabreBond SMP60 is a fast-curing, high-strength structural bonding adhesive/sealant based on silyl modified polymer (SMP) that boasts a remarkable high grab adhesive feature. This adhesive has been developed for primerless bonding of metals, alloy, glass, and many plastics, making it suitable for internal/external bonding and sealing applications in various industries such as automotive, mass transportation, commercial vehicle, caravan, marine, rail and aerospace. In addition, SabreBond SMP60 has high-performance mechanical properties and excellent UV performance in harsh climatic conditions. Notably, this chemically neutral adhesive does not contain isocyanates, silicone or solvents, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of applications.

FAQs
Is SabreBond SMP60 UV Stable?
Yes. SabreBond SMP50 has excellent UV stability and incorporates a unique ‘stay-white’ formula, preventing yellowing or discolouration over long periods of exposure.
Does SabreBond SMP60 adhere to polyethylene or polypropylene?
No. Preliminary surface treatment is required before bonding to polyethylene or polypropylene. Please contact Sabre Technical Department for advice regarding the best surface treatment method for your application.
What is the recommended bondline thickness?
We recommend a bonding depth of adhesive between substrates of at least 2mm. As bondline thickness requirements vary depending on specific applications, please consult Sabre Technical Department for further assistance.
Will SabreBond SMP60 adhere to Timber?
It depends. There is a lot of variety in the types of timber materials, and we recommend initial compatibility tests. If the material is highly porous, we would recommend a primer such as our Sabre Primer PX.
Is SabreBond SMP60 resistant to chemical agents?
SabreBond SMP60 has good resistance to water, aliphatic solvents, mineral oils, grease, diluted inorganic acids and alkalis. Poor resistance to aromatic solvents, concentrated acids, and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
